Let the training begin for the Warrior Dash! Only 120 days to go until I'll have to run, climb, crawl, jump, and whole bunch of other craziness.
My cousin just got NASM certificate to be a personal trainer, so we've "hired" him to help us get in gear.
Fridays will serve as a check-in for myself and hopefully my training/dashing buddies!
Here's what I did this week:
Sunday ~ Full, full workout. Went over entire routine for the week, having all of the terms and exercises demonstrated and explained. Total time: 90 minutes
Monday ~ Too sore do to much of anything ;)
Tuesday ~ Walked 4.2 miles in the foothills near my house. A few exercises using my son as weight.
Wednesday ~ Stayed at home like a lazy bum
Thursday ~ Went for a stroll with the kids. Lower body workout minus dynamic warm-up.
Tomorrow I plan on going to the gym to do some things that would be difficult to do here, like pull-ups (yuck).
This is what my workout is *supposed* to look like for anyone who cares:

I'll be doing some form of cardio at least three times a week as well; running, hiking, treadmill/elliptical, etc.
Also, just for my own records, I currently weigh 195. This way, I'll have a written record.
Anyone else want to join us for the Warrior Dash? Our heat is at 4:00. There's free beer involved :)

I've just decided you're crazy. Wow. This decision probably stems from the fact that I just followed the Warrior Dash link. That is so insane, and also, in a strange way, sounds like a lot of fun. I have no idea whether I would be able to commit to working out regularly enough (especially with trying to move) but you've planted a seed, at any rate. You nutter! Who are you running with?
Exactly! Insanely fun and challenging. I'm running with my mom and another friend, and my cousin is in a different heat, but he's running too. You should totally do it, it would be awesome to have you dash with us! It's filling up though, so you'd have to decide soon.
