Who are The Young'ns?

{The short answer}
I'm a slightly crunchy, homeschooling, bible-believing, crafty, mystery-shopping, cloth-diapering, cooking, happily married, blogging, selectively organized, trying to be an entrepreneur, stay-at-home mom.

{The long answer}
I am a stay-at-home mom of three (so far) beautiful kiddos. My daughter is 6 going on 13 ("Nathanael Joseph! You just messed up my pattern!"), my son is a solid three ("But I want to break it. But I want to throw it away."), and my baby boy who is one and proud of it ("Hi!!")

I've been married for 11 years to the best man ever. Even if he is a zipper (How can you weigh less now than when we got married? Seriously!?!)

I was homeschooled until I started college at age 17 and I plan on doing the same for my kids.

My husband and I have been going to the same church for the last 11 years, and plan on staying there until we get called to be somewhere else. If you ever have any (seriously, any) questions about my faith, I'm only too happy to listen!

I was born at home and so were my kids. Good thing that was the plan, too. My daughter was born in a snowstorm (3 feet of snow on the day I went into labor) and my son came so fast that it was just me home for the first 10 minutes of his life. The third one was so uneventful that I have no plans to write it down and my husband actually stayed in the room for the whole thing.

I cloth diaper because it's cheaper. In Colorado, where I live, it's not that much more ecologically friendly because of the water it takes to wash the diapers (it is an arid region, after all), but it sure is less expensive!

I love to craft! Give me just about any medium and I'm off and going. My favorite is card making, but I also make jewelry, sew (I'm learning to, anyway), make home decor (like these wall hangings), and try just about any tutorial that I think is neat (Hello, Pinterest!). I just bought a fancy new sewing machine (a Bernina, if you care), so I'm trying to "get my money out of it".

Yep, I mystery shop. Yep, I make money doing it. It's fun and a lot of work at the same time (like most of life, yes?) If you're interested, a good place to start is www.volition.com. They have a list of legit companies and a message board too.

I cook from scratch most nights and am always looking for new recipes that I can make my own. I post a new recipe every Tuesday (okay, almost every Tuesday), and I have a recipe index of the recipes I've already posted. I also menu plan nearly every month because it's such a great time and sanity saver during the week.

I design a scrapbooked photo calendar every year and sell assembled calendars or a kit if you're the frugal type. The calendars are super cute and I don't know what I would do without mine; I think I might be disowned if I didn't give them to the grandparents every year. You can go here to check out what they are and purchase one (or 5) if you like :)
