Wordless Wednesday – June 29th

So, Nate turned 2 last Friday. We had two little parties for him, one on father’s day with just the in-laws and us, and one on his actual birthday with some friends at the park.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Nate!

My little man turns 2 today!
To read the story of his birth, go here.
And here’s the post from his first year
2010-05-20 Outside (10)
Here’s my two-year-old!
2011-05-30 Wedding (39) He’s really a funny little boy. He signs more than he talks, although that has started changing in the last month. He loves music, dancing, airplanes, and anything else with wheels or noise. He gets frustrated easily and yells loudly to express said frustration. He laughs a lot. He plays with his sister. He bites her too. He loves his daddy and his mommy. He prefers to be with people than alone, but he’s happy to just follow me around and play where I am.
I love this little boy!!!!

Daily Photo – June 14th

Here’s another from last week. We went to a friend’s house and jumped around in the sprinkler. Nate did not think that it was a good idea, but Kahlen thought it was a.we.some2011-06-06 Playing in the sprinklers (4)

Daily Photo – June 13th

I really have several pictures that need to be posted, I’ve just been choosing to spend my time doing other things than blogging lately (like praying for my son and getting ready for VBS next week and running a 5k). Anyway, I’m hoping to at least get a few posted because there are some good ones!

This was our first trip to our swimming pool this year. It was a little chilly, but the kids had fun. We were joined by a neighbor and her 11-month-old. Many more days like this to come, I hope!

Menu Plan Monday – June 13th

image

I’ve missed my menu!! I thrive on having a plan (those of you who know me IRL are laughing right now as that’s a {slight} understatement), and I just haven’t been on top of things in the last week month. Sooo, here’s to staying within my menu! Nothing too exciting though, I’m going to be super crazy busy for the next two weeks at least.

Mix-it up Monday (something new) ~ Tortilla Casserole
Taco Tuesday (Mexican or Oriental) ~ Cheesy Hamburger Soup
Wow Wednesday (Date night or something like restaurant food) ~ Mac’n’Cheese while camping
Simple Thursday (Crockpot or less than 30 min prep) ~ Grilled Turkey & Cheese (before I host a Lia Sophia jewelry party)
Favorite Friday (A family favorite) ~ Leftovers after spending the day at the CHEC conference
Lazy Saturday (leftover buffet) ~ Spaghetti Pie
Saucy Sunday (Italian) ~ Father’s Day with the in-laws. Probably have a BBQ or something.

So, what are you having for dinner this week?

{embrace the camera} / Daily Photo – June 10th

I was demonstrating my ErgoBaby to my sister, and Nate was sleeping, so I put Kahlen in it instead. She is just at the weight limit, but it seemed to work just fine. So well, in fact, that I carried her in it for 1/4 mile the next day while we walked to the mall near our hotel in Portland.

Warrior Prayers – Pray for your sons 21 day challenge

I really wasn’t sure if I wanted to add more challenges to my life right now, but then a dear friend sent me an email encouraging me to do it anyway, so here I am.

One of my favorite blogs, Granola Mom 4 God, is leading a group of us in praying for our sons for 21 days straight with no breaks. There’s a book to go with it that has scriptures to pray through on specific topics that we’ll be going through which you can get here on Amazon Kindle or here through the author.

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with adding this to an already insanely busy month, but how can I afford *not* to pray for my son? The cost of not doing this is higher than the cost of doing it. I know that God will bless this commitment if I ask him to, so I’m doing that right now.IMG_7966 If you have a son or sons of any age, I would encourage you to join us in this journey. It’s not too late, we just started today! Head over to Granola Mom 4 God or the Warrior Prayers blog for all the info.

Watch for posts every Friday sharing about how the Lord is moving and working in my life and in the life of my son.

Wordless Wednesday / Daily Photo – June 8th

Sorry for the lack of posts lately :( Trying to get back in the swing of things AND embrace summer AND not be overwhelmed by the weeks ahead of me and the crazy busyness that is summer around here. I’m hoping, truly, to get back to blogging daily or at least more consistently, but we’ll just take it one day at a time, shall we?

Anyway, here’s Kahlen the way I found her at the end of rest time yesterday. She doesn’t usually sleep any more, but she does have down time for two hours, which benefits everyone. Yesterday, she made a bed for herself in her brother’s crib and fell fast asleep. She had the comforters closed up, I just folded them over to check on her. Apparently she was tired!

Wordless Wednesday / Daily Photo – June 1st

We’re safe and sound back in Colorado after our week in Portland. Still working on getting back to normal; we got in last night past midnight. I’ll have tons more pictures, but here’s a few from a park we went to while there.
