Product Review – Wooden Wine Rack

Hubby’s new “hobby” after we went to Colorado wine country last year is all about wine. Studying wine, buying wine, accessorizing, and of course, drinking wine! I thought it fitting then, when CSN Stores provided me with a product to review that I request a wine rack since our collection was just being stored in the basement in a box (on it’s side of course).

Unfortunately, this rack was not at all what I was hoping for. It is very cheap in quality and the instructions for putting it together are horrible. Hubby and I are no dummies when it comes to assembling things, but this left us both scratching our heads, taking out nails, and trying to put them back in without splitting the wood. It took us about an hour and a half to get it assembled correctly.

The issues we found with quality were numerous. The wood is stained but not sanded. It’s very thin wood; we were worried about splitting it with the nails provided, especially since we ended up having to take out the nails and put them back in due to the bad directions. The finished unit is not at all sturdy or stable; I worry about it falling over (while holding all my wine, in the basement which is concrete, not good!).

The things I do like about it: It’s very compact and fits great right next to my food storage shelves that I have. The wine feels sturdy within the rack itself, I would just feel better about wedging it between to things so it wouldn’t fall over.

Overall, I would not recommend this product. For the cost, I suppose, it’s not all that bad, but save your money and get a nicer one, it’s worth it!

CSN Review – What, oh what, shall I pick?

Product Review – EduShape Tub Fun Fish Bath Set

We received this great EduShape Tub Fun Fish Bath Set from CSN Stores and I couldn’t wait to give them to my kids. First, a note about the wonderful customer service at CSN Stores. I actually received the wrong set with the initial order, so I contacted them and they immediately got the correct set shipped to me, no questions asked! They even let me keep the incorrect set, so now I have two, hooray! Especially good since even though there are a TON of pieces, somehow my daughter cannot share more than about two with her brother. But with two sets, she can’t possibly hold on to all of them, so she’s forced to share :)

My kids think they are fantastic. I let them play with the container that the pieces came in too, which they think is great fun. After I showed them that they stick to the tub wall, Kahlen couldn’t get enough of it

She sorted them by color. Notice they’re up high so her brother couldn’t reach them.

After I took Nate out, she had even more fun.

She made them go all the way around the bathtub and asked if she could leave it there.

Suffice it to say, these are a big hit! They don’t want to play with anything else now. I like how easy they are to clean up. The variety of colors and shapes is very fun and the set is big enough that they could share, if they chose to ;)

Oh yea, and they stick to skin when they’re wet. An entertaining activity: stick a bunch to the back of an unsuspecting child and see them try to reach between their shoulder blades to get them off, heehee. Even Nate thought this was hilarious (sorry, no pictures, they were inappropriate frontal shots of my nekkid kiddos…)
